Covid Restrictions for Golf and Golf Instruction

COVID 19 UPDATE

April 27, 2021

We are continuing to monitor the Covid 19 restrictions as they are being updated daily from Nova Scotia’s Department of Public Health. Here are some guidelines that will help you participate in golf safely. We are fortunate that golf lends itself to social distancing and can provide a much needed physical and social outlet for so many. Golf Courses are doing everything they can to ensure your safety while at the course, but we must all do our part. Stay safe everyone!

Golfers need to stick to their own community. All games for the next 4 weeks (May 20, or until they lift restrictions) will only be played within HRM. We are not allowed to travel outside of our community for golf games or lessons at this time. If you live outside of HRM you are not permitted to come into our community for games or lessons. Adhere to all the restrictions and guidance from Public Health: www.novascotia.ca/coronavirus

IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL YOU MUST STAY HOME

*Cancel your tee time and any lessons you may have booked

At the Course

  • Wear a mask inside any building and outside when you can’t be 6 feet apart. Respect the club rules for capacity amounts in their pro shop or washrooms
  • Do not arrive more than 20 minutes before your starting time
  • Avoid gathering in groups of more than 5 people outside
  • Sanitize your hands often especially when touching keypads, golf carts and doors
  • Consider riding alone in a golf cart
  • Restaurants at the clubs are currently closed. Food and snacks may or may not be available. Be prepared and pack your own
  • Do not touch the flagstick
  • Do not shake hands with your golf partners – a friendly club tap is sufficient
  • Avoid picking up any loose tees or balls that do not belong to you
  • Leave the golf course immediately after play

Private Lessons – Group Clinics

  • Maintain spacing of 6 feet between participants
  • Masks must be worn at all times by instructors and participants
  • Payments should be done via etransfer or over the phone (for credit card payment)
  • Avoid gathering in groups of more than 5 people outside
  • Sanitize your hands before and after your lesson
  • Leave the golf course immediately after play

STAY SAFE!

Now would be a good time to get school support workers back in the classroom! My kids texted me every hour asking if our house burned down. Kids are scared. And being away from home right now is torture for them #TantallonFire School support workers are needed!

Preliminary estimates indicate that approximately 200 homes or structures have been damaged as a result of the fires. A full assessment of the damage cannot yet be confirmed. Details: https://fal.cn/3yDqo

Update: fire evacuation order now issued to include Maplewood, Voyageur Way including St. George Blvd area including all side streets, McCabe Lake area and Indigo Shores. Evacuation orders will not be lifted before Monday. Take your pets. Check @hfxgov for updates.
